Sex, sex, sex. Yes, I said it. Why is that word so taboo when it’s something we all love to do? Except for those who have taken a vow of celibacy, of course—been there, done that. Sex is all around us and is a major focus. The thing is, we have lost a lot of our inner connectedness to sex and have confused it with love. We try to fill the empty void inside by becoming predators instead of truly making a bond with each other.
We’ve all had one nighters—I’ve had my own quick explosions, as I like to call them. Just because it’s that type of encounter, where you may never see the person again, it doesn’t mean the experience has to be lifeless, cold and selfish. When I had mine, I made sure I reveled in mind, body and spirit. I would make it fun and explorative. I would see myself like an explorer going on a voyage—the destination, my lover’s body. I would see every part of the person as sacred and mysterious, and would let them explore me in a fun way as well.
How is it that some people get together and discard the energy they take in while in the process of intertwining? There’s no reason to be vacuous and dead, like a walking corpse or vampire. When someone is on the prowl with the sheer intention of feeding their desire, what’s left is a big fat mess, both spiritual and emotional. Think of it as a black hole sucking the life out of everything. The more you have what I call “flatline sex,” the more the void inside grows. It just gets bigger and bigger and before you know it, it swallows you like a beast. You become stamped a sex addict. You can no longer feel and you’re alone with a bunch of names that you checked off your “I Must Conquer” list. This is no cup of tea. In fact, it sucks.
There is a better way—it just requires you to treat sex in a sacred way. It can still be as hot as you like, it just has to be filled with clear intent and respect for the soul you’re getting down with. It’s so easy to live this way, and it builds strong character and self-respect. It gets you in touch with your body and spirit in a more intimate way that opens you up to feel more intense orgasms. I’ve had such intense orgasms that I felt like I died and was reborn all in a matter of minutes. It was like I reached nirvana—pure spiritual bliss.
We are all living emanations of the divine. On some level, every encounter we have is a union with Source. So if you trash it and kick it out of bed like a dog, it creates imbalance within you on a deep level. It shuts down your heart and empowers your ego. Sex is amazing. I love to get crazy, nasty and dirty—but with mindful intention. Whether you’re in a committed relationship or not, simply find ways to make it fun. Ask the person what they like. Play games, explore fantasies, go wild. However, make sure you keep your mind and body intact, so you’re both sharing in a tantric, playful experience. When you do that, you open the door to higher levels of joy, ecstasy and elation, and that empowers your spirit. Source wants you to evolve every time you have sex and take in higher levels in spiritual well-being. Be responsible. Have a good time
